Summary

      It's karaoke night at the Talon and cousins Chloe and Lois are rocking out to Joan Jett's I Love Rock n Roll on stage. Lois sings coyly to a guy when in walks Clark accompanied by Alicia. Everyone stops and stares, shocked that Clark brought Alicia with him. An uncomfortable Alicia looks around warily. Angered, Lana gets up and tries to leave, but Alicia stops her, wanting to apologize. Lana, however, won't give her another chance and stalks off angrily. Even Jason, Lana's boyfriend, is upset with Clark for bringing Alicia to the Talon. That night, Lana prepares herself a shower and locks the bathroom door solidly. As she's showering a mysterious black cloud of sand seeps in through the keyhole and attacks Lana in the shower, pulling the plastic curtain over her mouth. Jason, hearing a struggle, breaks down the locked bathroom door and yanks the curtain off her, allowing her to breathe again. Lana is taken to the Smallville hospital and treated. Lois and Chloe are already there when Clark arrives. They inform him that the sheriff believes it's Alicia. She seems to be the most likely suspect with her teleporting abilities. But Clark doesn't believe them; he was with Alicia last night at the time of the attack. Sheriff Adams interrogates Clark and his family at the Kent farm, Clark is Alicia's alibi though, and it's the only thing keeping Alicia out of jail right now. Clark's parents are worried that their son is being blindsided by Alicia and that maybe Alicia attacked Lana again, just like last time.

      Lois visits Chloe at Smallville High the next day and Chloe's still convinced that it's Alicia who attacked Lana. The guy that Lois sang to at the Talon, Tim, comes up to the two of them and asks Lois out for coffee, much to her surprise. Clark asks Tim if he saw anything unusual at the Talon the other night, before Lana was attacked. Tim says he saw Clark's mom cleaning up at the Talon and the blonde girl that Clark was with was in the alley outside, which is also where Lana lives.

      That night Clark and Alicia are in Clark's barn. Clark tells him what Tim saw, but Alicia says it must have been another blonde girl in the alley because she didn't do it. Clark realizes she's right, especially since she was wearing her bracelet which inhibits her powers. He holds her hand and pulls up her sleeve, revealing the fact that she actually ISN'T wearing the bracelet anymore. Clark is upset that Alicia lied to him, but she tries to explain that she couldn't give away her powers again. She wants people to accept her for who she is, including her powers.

      Clark and his mother decide to stay with Lana while Jason heads off to the library to study. As Jason's getting into his car he is suddenly attacked from behind. A scarf pulls tight around his neck; the very same scarf that Alicia wore to the Talon the day before. Jason slams on the horn wildly, attracting Clark's attention who comes running to the rescue. Clark notices immediately the green scarf, incriminating Alicia.

      At the hospital again, Jason's mother arrives to find out if he's okay. Jason brings up the fact that he's sure that his mother set him and Lana up in Paris. Lana arrives, and Jason's mother pokes fun at the two of them for blaming her for their relationship.

      Later on, Clark tries to fashion a new lead bracelet for Alicia. Clark shows Alicia the green scarf he found in Jason's car and says that she has to turn herself in. Alicia is angered though and insists she didn't do it. She says that if everybody knew about Clark's powers too, he'd be a suspect as well. Alicia agrees to go to the police, but only if Clark agrees to tell the police about his powers as well. She tries to make him understand that once people know the truth about them then they'll have to accept them for who they really are. They only way they can be free is if people know about who and what they can do. Clark can't do that though, so Alicia says goodbye, and teleports out of his barn.

      At the Talon the next day, Clark finds Sheriff Adams and gives her the green scarf that was found in Jason's car. Sheriff Adams says that despite the scarf being in Jason's car, she was interrogating Alicia last night at the exact same time that Jason was being attacked and there was no way she could have done it.

      Chloe is spending some overtime at the Talon when Alicia shows up. Alicia asks Chloe if she wants to know the truth about Clark. Alicia grabs Chloe and teleports them into a car. Alicia calls Clark and lies to him saying that the car is out of control and she can't stop it. Alicia teleports her and Chloe out of the car to a vantage point close by. Clark rushes to the scene, and Chloe watches in shock as Clark actually catches the car as it flies off a ramp. Chloe's mouth drops open as Clark supports the full weight of the car and places it down on the ground softly. Clark, once realizing that nobody is in the car, runs off at top speed.

      Meanwhile, Lois is out on her date with Tim. Tim, however, is blathering on about how Smallville was affected by the meteor rocks and how is turned the town evil. Tim goes on about how the football coach (Jason) should never have been dating a student (Lana) and how they should be punished for their actions. Tim thinks that they were attacked because they deserved to be punished. Lois, realizing just how creepy Tim is, decides to bail on their date. Tim, as soon as Lois has left him, dissolves into a mass of sand and flies off. Lois finds Chloe at the Talon and tells her she thinks Tim is the cause of the attacks and wants to know where Clark is. Chloe tells her that Clark is probably at Alicia's house. Meanwhile, Alicia arrives at her house to find Tim sifting through her things, looking for evidence to plant at the next crime scene. As Alicia approaches him, Tim grabs her and covers her mouth with a cloth covered in chloroform, knocking her unconscious immediately.

      Clark arrives at Alicia's house and goes immediately to the barn to look for her. A dog is barking furiously, alerting him to the fact that something might be wrong. Clark finds Alicia hanging limply from a noose from the roof of the barn. Clark burns a hole in the rope, releasing Alicia from her dead man's hang. Realizing that Alicia is dead, Clark screams in furious anger. Lois arrives on the scene, and tells Clark she knows where they can find Tim, the one who did this. Clark rushes out and locates Tim, jumping him immediately. Tim fights back against Clark, saying that he has to make things right in Smallville by getting rid of all the evil. Tim transforms into his sand form and attacks Clark by swirling around him into his eyes and mouth. Clark uses the fire power in his eyes to burn the sandy Tim. Hurt, Tim reverts back to his human form and Clark tries to strangle him. Lois rushes to the scene just in time and stops Clark from killing Tim.

      Clark's parents find him in the barn slamming a baseball against the boards. He's been up there for two days mourning Alicia's death. His parents try to convince him that it wasn't his fault, but Clark feels that he should have trusted Alicia, and that maybe if he'd told the sheriff what he could do he might have saved her. And he just can't forgive himself for that.

      At school, Chloe is sitting alone in the office of the Torch newspaper, staring at the wall of weirdness she's created. Lois shows up to say hi and Chloe asks her if keeping secrets is a good thing, and Lois says that secrets, so long as they aren't harmful, should be kept. Lois leaves for her campus, and Chloe takes down the articles on the wall of weirdness concerning Clark.

      It's a dreary day outside, and Clark is sitting alone at Alicia's grave holding a single red rose. Chloe joins him and offers her support to him. She tells him she's there for him if he ever needs to talk about what happened. Clark thanks her, and she leaves him alone at Alicia's grave.
