Summary
It's field trip day for Smallville High, and Clark's class has gone to LuthorCorp for the day. Lionel Luthor is giving a brief speech to Clark's class before the tour of the LuthorCorp facilities begins. Clark and Chloe are in agony over the fieldtrip and more than a little bitter to be there. Clark and some blonde girl are left alone to take the next elevator alone. Once in the elevator, something goes wrong and the elevator begins to plummet downwards from the 39th floor. Clark fries the security camera with his heat vision and then punches his hand through the steel wall and grabs the cable, holding them in place. The girl, scared, asks him what he just did. Suddenly LuthorCorp's security tries to pry open the doors. Realizing that Clark's secret would be known to the public if they see him, she touches him and teleports them down to the ground floor. She asks him not to tell anyone her secret and she won't tell his. They're swept up in the crowd of concerned students who are shocked by what happened.
The next day, Clark runs to catch up to Alicia, the blonde girl from yesterday who saved both their lives in the elevator. He thanks her for yesterday and she says it was nothing, but how it's actually nice to know that there's someone else like her with special abilities. Clark mentions how most people think Alicia is stuck up, but she says she prefers to be thought of as a snob being labelled a freak because of her powers. Alicia developed her ability after the meteor shower and it's very evident that Clark is interested in Alicia, partially because they have a superpower connection. The bell rings and they have to separate to go to class, but both of them are excited that they share something in common.
Lana breaks into Adam's apartment above the Talon and rifles through his things. She locates a file folder taped to the bottom of a shelf that contains information detailing when and where Lana and Clark have been each and every day. Adam has clearly been spying on them. She demands that Adam move out, but Adam tells her that it's not so easy to evict someone and he's not going anywhere.
Clark finds Alicia in the physics lab later on. He awkwardly asks Alicia if she'd like to get together to study. Seeing through his petty excuse, Alicia asks Clark if he'd like to go out on a date with her. Clark leaves the physics lab and runs into Lana. She tells him what Adam's been up to and she's not quite sure why he's keeping a journal on the both of them. Alicia comes out of the physics lab and tells Clark she'll see around 7 tonight. Lana is a bit surprised, and Clark tries to pass off that they're just in the same class together.
After the movie, Clark and Alicia find themselves in Clark's barn. As they stare up at the stars through Clark's telescope, Alicia asks what other abilities Clark has, and whether or not he's shown Lana those abilities. Clark says he hasn't and it was one of the problems with their relationship. Alicia tells him about one of the boys she's dated and how when he found out about her abilities he wasn't able to handle it. Clark takes Alicia home. She tells him that her parents are a bit overprotective of her and they tried to keep her from using her abilities, although she won't go into detail about it. At Alicia's doorstep, Clark and Alicia almost kiss, but awkwardness takes over and Alicia tells him she'll see him later. Clark leaves, and Alicia teleports into her bedroom, watching him as he leaves. Much later on, Clark is asleep in bed when Alicia suddenly surprises him in bed, causing him to knock his alarm clock off the bedside table. A scantily clad Alicia straddles Clark and says that she knows he didn't want the night to end. She tells him to just kiss her. As they begin to kiss intensely, in walks Clark's father who overheard the falling alarm clock. Embarrassed, Alicia and Clark stop mid-kiss. After Alicia has teleported out of the house, Clark joins his parents downstairs. He explains Alicia's abilities and how she knows that he has extra strength and heatvision. Jonathan is worried that Clark told her that he also gets sick around meteor rocks, but Clark assures him that he didn't tell her that. Meanwhile, unbeknowst to them, Alicia is watching from from behind an almost closed door.
The next day at school, everyone seems to know about Clark and Alicia's midnight rendez-vous. Clark opens his locker to find loads of pictures of Alicia taped up inside. Alicia comes up to him while he's at his locker. He tries to tell her that he thinks they're moving too fast and that they might need to set some boundaries. She tells him that they're special and they don't have boundaries or limitations.
Lex pokes fun at Clark for having managed to attract Alicia so strongly. Clark doesn't know what to do now though. Making a decision, Clark goes over to Alicia's place and is greeted by her parents, who seem to be well aware of who he is. Clark tries to her parents that there's been a mistake and they aren't actually dating... but Alicia's parents stop him and say that he should just go along with whatever Alicia says. Alicia's father says that they used to keep her in a special lead room that kept her from using her abilities. He also warns Clark that there was another boy that Alicia liked where things didn't end well between them and that Clark should be very careful around his daughter. As Clark leaves, Alicia appears behind the door, she's heard everything her parents said about her to Clark and she's not at all pleased.
At the Talon, Lana tells Lex the problem with Adam. Lex assures her that he'll be able to get rid of Adam a lot faster than she expects.
Clark returns home to find yet more pictures of Alicia up in his barn loft. He also finds his yearbook with Lana's picture scratched out. Alicia appears behind him saying she got his message that he wanted to see her. Clark tries to tell her that they're not together but she insists that they were made for each other. Alicia's cell phone goes off, and she's informed that her father is in the hospital because he fell down the stairs. Clark and Alicia rush to the hospital where Sheriff Adams asks Alicia if she knows of anyone who would want to hurt her father. The sheriff tells them that there was blunt trauma on her father's head and the basement stairs were locked, indicating that possibly it wasn't an accident and he was attacked. Alicia begins to sob uncontrollably, but Clark smells something fishy and pulls her aside. He asks her if she had anything to do with her father's "accident." She fesses up and says she did it for them because he was trying to keep them apart. He tells her to speak to the sheriff but she refuses and teleports out of the hospital. Clark returns home to find Alicia in the kitchen helping his mom cook dinner. Alicia threatens Clark, saying so long as he protects her, she'll protect his secret. Unsure what to do, Clark goes to the Torch and tells Chloe what's going on with Alicia. Suddenly Clark forms a plan, but he needs Chloe's help.
Chloe goes over to Alicia's place and tells Alicia that Sheriff Adams suspects Clark for assaulting her father. Chloe tells Alicia that Clark is in hiding and he needs Alicia's help. Alicia rushes off to find Clark in an underground industrial area. She finds him and he tells her she has to tell the truth about what happened with her father. She won't, but suggests that they run off somewhere together. Realizing he has no choice, he pulls Alicia into a separate room underground. The entire room has been painted with lead paint which inhibits her powers. Alicia thinks that Clark is just trying to get rid of her so he can be with Lana. Alicia pulls out a meteor rock and immediately Clark loses all his strength and drops to the ground. Alicia walks out telling him that they're soulmates and nothing will stop that.
Alicia finds Lana at the Talon. She asks Lana why Clark is so infatuated with her, she's not prettier or smarter then her, so what is it? Alicia pulls a knife on Lana even though Lana tries to tell her that nothing is going on between her and Clark. Alicia tells Lana that Clark told her the truth about himself, the things that he wouldn't tell her. Meanwhile in the underground industrial area, Clark finally summons the strength to tip over the lead paint can over the kryptonite rock. He grabs a can of paint and races out of there. He gets to the Talon just has Alicia raises the butcher knife over her head. Clark yells Alicia's name, attracting her attention, and throws the can of lead paint directly at her. Using his heat-vision, he causes the paint canister to explode open in mid air. The paint collides with Alicia and completely covers her in the sticky red substance, preventing her from teleporting. Clark rushes over to Lana to make sure she's okay.
The next day, Lana goes over to Clark's place to thank him for helping her. She says that Alicia told her that he told her the truth about himself. But Clark tries to pass it all off as Alicia being crazy. Lana leaves even though Clark's mother invited her to stay for dinner. Clark's mom then tells Clark that she's sure one day he'll find the right girl for him. But Clark thinks that maybe he'll just always be alone.
